When we first met Nine, he was in unimaginable pain. After a call about a dog in distress, our team rushed to the scene — and found him unable to move, his eyes pleading for help. We gently picked him up, carried him to the van, and rushed him straight to the vet.
There, we learned Nine had likely been hit by a car, suffering a broken back and pelvis. It was a heartbreaking discovery, but Nine’s spirit never wavered. With time, tender loving care, and a lot of heart, Nine has healed beautifully. While he does have some arthritis that’s managed with supplements and occasional medication, he refuses to let it dim his light.
Nine dreams of a calm home where he can be the center of attention — a cozy spot just for him, with no other dogs to bother his peace. He’s the king of comfort, happiest when sunbathing or snuggled into the biggest, fluffiest blanket he can find.
He’s good with older kids, but because of his past injuries and pain sensitivity, his ideal home would be a calm, quiet home, with limited/no stairs and where he just can live by his persons side.
Nine is a survivor, a gentle soul, and a reminder that even in the face of tragedy, healing — and love — are always possible. He’s ready to find a family who will cherish him for the rest of his days. ❤️🐾
