She was just a four-month-old puppy when we found her near our facility, her tiny body torn apart after what appeared to be a staged dog fight. She had been used as a bait dog and then discarded like garbage.
Somehow, she survived. She has healed physically, though she still carries the scars on her body—and the deeper ones in her heart. Because of the trauma she endured, she developed behavioral challenges that make it best for her to remain with us here at VRC, where she is safe, loved, and understood.
She is breathtaking, a true survivor, and every day she reminds us of why we fight for dogs like her. Fleurty Girl is now a senior and while she may not be able to leave for a new home, you can still change her life by becoming her sponsor. Your support provides her with the medical care, enrichment, and love she’ll need for the rest of her life.
