Coming to us with one of the worst embedded collar cases we’ve ever had, Detention’s troubles were only beginning. He then had to go through a long heartworm treatment process. Add to his medical problems, he also had behavioral issues which made him a difficult adoption prospect. He was very shy around people and it would take him quite a while to warm up to anyone.
But along came his heroes at the D.A.W.G.S prison dog program and gave Detention the help he needed.
UPDATE: Detention was one of the lucky ones who ended up in our PA prison dog program, DAWGS Prison Programs (https://www.facebook.com/D.A.W.G.S.dogsachievingwellnessandgoodstructure/) Thanks to this wonderful program, Detention was finally able to get a home of his own!
