When Smith was found, she was a shadow of the strong, beautiful soul she is today. Emaciated and desperately eating from a pile of trash, a compassionate New Orleans police officer spotted her and knew he had to act. Unsure where to turn, he called us for help — a call that would change Smith’s life forever.
We named her after her incredible guardian angel, Officer Smith, who refused to look away. When she arrived, she was heartbreakingly thin, riddled with internal parasites, and tested positive for heartworms. But in true pittie fashion, Smith proved that resilience runs deep in her spirit.
Today, she has blossomed into an absolutely stunning girl — healthy, happy, and full of life. She adores going for peaceful walks and loves spending her days in a calm, quiet environment where she can soak up all the love and security she missed for so long.
