Juneberry came to us in heartbreaking condition. Her body was covered head to toe in one of the worst skin infections our vet had ever seen. Her skin was raw, inflamed, painful. And she wasn’t alone. She had been abandoned with her three emaciated puppies, trying to keep them alive while her own body was failing her.
Her puppies recovered. They grew strong. They found forever homes.
Juneberry healed too, physically. But healing on the inside takes longer.
Emotionally, she arrived shut down. Guarded. Watching everything. Trust wasn’t something she gave easily and honestly, after what she’s been through, who could blame her?
She has come so far.
She allows love now to those she trusts.
She leans in, carefully. She bonds deeply, once you earn it.
She will need:
• An experienced, patient owner
• A home where she can be the only pet
• A special diet and ongoing medication to keep her skin healthy
• Someone who understands that slow trust is still trust
She takes time to warm up but when she does, she is loyal in a way that feels sacred.
She needs an understanding home that will respect that she needs time to adjust.
The kind of home that sees past scars both seen and unseen and says, “You’re safe now. Take your time.”
If you believe in second chances, if you understand that some dogs bloom slowly but beautifully… Juneberry is still here.
Still waiting.
