Thank you for having an interest and showing support for the most exploited and abused breed of dog in the country.

VILLALOBOS STATISTICS

1. Our average adoption rate is only 1 dog a month and not because we're turning people down for adoptions. It's simply because we don't get that many adoption applications.

2. It costs $600/day to run Villalobos Rescue Center

3. We go through 2100 lbs. of dog food a week

4. "Unfortunately" we are the largest Pit Bull facility in the world with a daily average of 200 dogs.

THE PIT BULLS OF LOS ANGELES NEED YOUR HELP!!!

The Phoenix House is our dream project.

We are attempting to purchase the house and property next door to our main facility. Our plans are to turn this into a halfway house/parolee life skills center where our parolee interns will live and enhance their minds with classes in computer skills, cooking techniques and basic life survival skills to help them mainstream back into the real world. All this while living among our Pit Bull population where at this new location we have plans to build a state of the art boarding/training facility. The men once kept behind bars are now showing compassion for our four legged friends behind bars.

But our dreams cannot become a reality until we reach our goal of 1 million dollars to purchase the property. Every single dollar will count. Help us to help them.

This is Phoenix. The house is being named in his honor. He was saved by New Orleans rescuers from a horrible life on the end of a chain. He represents freedom and the opportunity to show that everyone deserves that second chance.

THE RESCUE FACILITY VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

Jacob during his bubblebath at the Pets In The Hood Program.
BATH TIME - Though Pit Bulls are short coated, they still get filthy rolling around during playtime. Maybe we should call them "Pig Bulls".

Mariah and L.A. taking time out for a "smooch".

CUDDLES & HUGS - Believe it or not, these sometimes lazy Pit Bulls prefer just to lay around and have tummy rubs. This activity is for those couch potatoes.

Here are the kids from "Clean Green" helping out with the wolf pens.

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR - We could really use a hand organizing the various volunteer activities! Requires some experience dealing with people or volunteers, great organizational skills and lots of patience!

DOG WALKERS - Our Pit Bulls love nothing more than to get out and stroll. With our rolling hills and the quiet of the canyon, one couldn't ask for a better atmosphere. So pack a lunch and get ready for a hike.

TRAINING CLASS VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

TRAINING ASSISTANT - Throughout the City of Los Angeles, we are conducting training classes at the various animal shelters. Each one is a 7 week course (various days and hours). We desperately need "bodies" out there making sure our little "Pitsters" don't let their owners get themselves into trouble. You know how it can get when you get too many Pit Bull owners in one area.

TRAINING SPONSORS - For those who can't own a dog or a second dog, this will make you feel right at home. We have many orphans just waiting for a home of their own. But having some obedience training might just make them a little more adoptable. We would be willing to "team up" a rescue dog with a "sponsor" and transport the dog to each class, so that he/she may work with his/her sponsor. Ask us about a list of who is available.

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP US

DONATIONS - This is always a necessity, unfortunately. Our overhead is beyond belief. Dog food and our vet bill are always extremely high. At this time we spend $400.00 weekly on dog food and our vet bill is over $2,500.00. All monetary donations are tax deductible.

BE A RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNER - That means that you should spay/neuter your dogs, get yearly checkups/shots, license your dog, keep an ID tag and collar on your dog 24 hours a day, keep your dog on heartworm prevention year round, do not ever chain up a dog and do not let a dog roam. A responsible dog owner ensures that their dog is either inside a fence or on a leash. You can also help to educate others about responsible pet ownership.

Here Mariah and L.A. teach a classroom of school kids about the subject of "racism" and "bigotry" - something that Pit Bulls are constantly victim to.

For more information on the above, please call or email us and we will give you more information. We hope this will convince you to give it a try and when you look into those sad eyes, just remember....

Once again Villalobos Rescue Center can't thank you enough for your kindness and concern. We are trying to keep our spirits up and with your help we can do it. Our biggest dream is for all our little Kiss Bulls to get homes. That would be the greatest gift of all.

 Visits are by APPOINTMENT ONLY!!
Due to the increasing number of people showing up that have become obsessed fans, stalkers or that think we are a public zoo, we now have to take control of the situation. We are a sanctuary for these animals and the last thing they want or need is someone coming by just to "check them out". We DO NOT give tours or allow the public to walk around like the animal shelter. Visitations are for those adopting, boarding or training only. This is not only for liability reasons, but for the sake of the privacy of these animals that have already had a tough life.
Please respect that.
If you are interested in visiting, you MUST call and make an appointment.
For those of you, who think you're "special" and are planning on just "dropping by", we have a surprise waiting for you at the front gate.....
SURPRISE!
