Tuff Mutts brings together a truly unique blend of training, fun and mending of the owner/dog relationship. We focus on the controversial, because if anyone knows how it is to be the "underdog" it's us. Do we believe we have something to prove to the rest of the world? You betcha! And we have! Tuff Mutts has a very expierenced and diverse team of trainers available. Not only do we train animals for the film industry, but we are also Calif. P.O.S.T certified for narcotics detection (drug dogs), TDI certified (therapy dogs), CGC (Canine Good Citizen), but also conducts training seminars for the LAPD LA City Animal services, L.A. County Animal Control and L.A. County Probation.
Can we guarantee to fix your dog's problems? Absolutely not. But what we can guarantee is to give you our very best and give you 100%. We will also offer free lifetime "refresher" training for the lifetime of your dog, as long as the ownership remains with you. We will do everything realistically and safely possible to help you and your dog succeed.
"Tuff Mutts" is the training program conducted through Villalobos Rescue Center. The name was created in fun, and to poke at the fact that our dogs are really not tough at all, well at least with people. Though we acknowledge the sometimes inherent dog agression in our breed, they are still ranked as one of the top five most stable breed of dog in the world (American Temperment Test Society of the U.S.) All of our training programs do address the dog to dog aggression issue, as well as basic obedience and behavioral modification. ALL of our training methods are reward based and we DO NOT use any negative reinforcement nor electric collars. Below you will find the programs that are available to you and the coolest breed of dog in the world.
PRIVATE ON SITE
These are one on one with just you, your dog and the trainer. We recommend
a few of these until we can mainstream you and your dog into a group class. Of
course if you would rather remain in the private training, then that's okay too.
Whats great about the private sessions is that they are conducted here at the rescue
facility in a controlled environment and we have the luxury of being able to set up
the various scenarios that your dog needs to work through. On site training is
recommended for dog aggression issues only. If your dog has people issues we
recommend doing the private in home sessions.
COST: $100/ session, includes pre-appointment telephone interview
&post appointment telephone followup. Payment for this program is to Louise
directly and due upon commencment of services
GROUP ON SITE
Our Group classes range anywhere from 10-15 students at a time.
Besides learning the basics, sit, down, come, stay, etc. We also deal
with that "dog to dog" aggression. Each class will also address
various behavioral issues specific to each of your needs. I have to
admit, these classes are ALOT of fun and nothing like you've ever
expierenced. We do a little boot camp style, some fun role playing
and all while you and your Pit Bull learn how to be a productive canine
member of society. Each class is approximately 2 hours long and this
is an 8 week course on each consecutive Saturday.
COST: $200 for entire course
TELEPHONIC TRAINING
This is a program that we set up specifically for our out of state
clients.With little to no training programs set aside for Pit Bulls,
we get hundreds of calls a week with desperate owners looking
for help on how to make their Pit Bull the best he or she can be.
Though we are obviously limited to what we can do via telephone,
we will do our absolute best to point you in the right direction to
solving your problem. And unfortunately because of the number of
calls we now get, we can no longer keep up with them, thus the need
to charge a little something.
COST: $25 per call
PRIVATE IN HOME TRAINING

Starting in April Louise Crane, who has been training pit bulls with us for the past 7 years will be doing in home behavior and training sessions in the Los Angeles area.
Louise specializes in all the 'pitbull' issues from dog aggression to crate training, to puppy rearing, managing a multi pitbull household, fear issues, aggression issues etc.

LIVE WEB CAM TRAINING
Is now available!! This is for our out of state clients that want that one on one
experience. Now here's your chance to work with your dog while we help you
on the spot! We get to watch you work your dog and help you through training
issues, and all in the comfort of your own home. Then we can turn around and
