LONGEST INCARCERATION IN DOG FIGHTING HISTORY!!
Too bad it wasn't the convicted dog fighter who spent the 3 1/2 years behind bars. It was his victims that did his time for him. In yet another case of our backwards judicial system, in the case of dog fighter, Albert Cain Jr. of San Bernardino, Calif. his dogs were confiscated in January 2006 when law enforcement found mutilated dogs at his property and blood splattered walls in his house. Despite all this evidence, Cain did no jail time, but his 11 Pit Bulls got held up in the court battle and were kept at the San Bernardino City Shelter until the case was over when Cain accepted a deal and received probation. Finally after a long battle, the dogs were released to us and finally the happy ending everyone had been waiting for. There were tears and there were cheers but the best was the wagging tails and those big alligator grins from the dogs themselves. |

Visits
are by APPOINTMENT ONLY!! Due to the increasing number of people showing up that have become obsessed fans, stalkers or that think we are a public zoo, we now have to take control of the situation. We are a sanctuary for these animals and the last thing they want or need is someone coming by just to "check them out". We DO NOT give tours or allow the public to walk around like the animal shelter. Visitations are for those adopting, boarding or training only. This is not only for liability reasons, but for the sake of the privacy of these animals that have already had a tough life. Please respect that. If you are interested in visiting, you MUST call and make an appointment. For those of you, who think you're "special" and are planning on just "dropping by", we have a surprise waiting for you at the front gate..... SURPRISE! |
