Phoenix HouseIts a sad day and a major reality check on the hard times this state has fallen in to. We are on the verge of losing our halfway house: The Phoenix House. Because we haven't been able to afford to puchase the house, we've been renting it. Because donations are at an all time low, we've fallen behind on the rent. So after being so patient, the landlord finally has no choice but to ask us to move out. This means several of our parolees will become homeless and lose the support system that we have given them here, But it also means that quite a few of our dogs that now live over there, will have to come back over to the kennel and squeeze in somewhere.
The only light at the end of our tunnel is that we do have a big project coming up but not for a month or so. If we could just get a month or two (or more) of rent paid, this would save this much needed project.
GOAL: $2700.00 needed a month. If you can help, please please go to our paypal link and help save Man and Man's Best Friend. Alot lives depend on it....literally.

Visits
are by APPOINTMENT ONLY!! Due to the increasing number of people showing up that have become obsessed fans, stalkers or that think we are a public zoo, we now have to take control of the situation. We are a sanctuary for these animals and the last thing they want or need is someone coming by just to "check them out". We DO NOT give tours or allow the public to walk around like the animal shelter. Visitations are for those adopting, boarding or training only. This is not only for liability reasons, but for the sake of the privacy of these animals that have already had a tough life. Please respect that. If you are interested in visiting, you MUST call and make an appointment. For those of you, who think you're "special" and are planning on just "dropping by", we have a surprise waiting for you at the front gate..... SURPRISE! |
